The focus of CDIPD is on the parasitic organisms that are responsible for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). Our research includes studying the basic biology and biochemistry of these parasites as well as key aspects of the biology of the host-parasite relationship. We use the information gathered from these studies to discover and develop new drugs, diagnostics and vaccines targeting NTDs. Our major efforts are in drug discovery and development including translational research to develop drug leads into clinical candidates.
