More than a hundred students, researchers and visiting scientists passed through the Center during its thirty-year history, first as the Tropical Disease Research Unit at UCSF's Parnassus campus, then the Sandler Center for Basic Research in Parasitic Diseases, then the Sandler Center for Drug Discovery, and finally the Center for Discovery and Innovation in Parasitic Diseases (CDIPD), formerly based at UCSF's Mission Bay campus and now at Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, UC San Diego.
