I graduated from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, and have many years of experience in clinical and research laboratory settings, including a broad spectrum of pathogenic systems ranging from human cancer to entomopathogenic nematodes. Most of my time has been devoted to Plasmodium, the organism causing human malaria, Cryptosporidium and lately Giardia and Trypanosoma cruzi, the causative agent of Chagas Disease. Over the years I became familiar with most human parasites and the profound effect they have on human health and whole societies. I readily share my knowledge with students and other members of the McKerrow group.
