I am a third year undergraduate at UCSD pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I am currently a participant of UCSD McNair Scholar Program undergraduate for 2016-2017 under the mentorship of Dr. Ruben Abagyan and advising mentorship of Dr. Anjan Debnath. My work focuses on primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM), a rapidly fatal infection caused by the free-living amoeba Naegleria fowleri. At CDIPD, my goal is to identify an FDA-approved, blood- brain barrier permeable drug for the treatment of PAM.

Previously, I participated in The UCSD Summer Science Enrichment Program (SSEP) 2016 under the mentorship of Dr. Georgia Sadler and Dr. Alfred Lawrence. I served Summer 2016 Internship at Moore’s Cancer Center in Dr. Dennis Carson Laboratory where I harvested, cultured and split MTLR4 HEK-blue cells and tested different compounds in vitro for possible activity against cervical, liver, head and neck cancers.
